What we do

Welcome to the East Midlands Regional Improvement and Innovation Alliance (RIIA). We are a partnership of ten local authorities and the Northamptonshire Children’s Trust, working together to make a real difference for children, young people and their families across our region. By sharing ideas, learning from each other, and supporting improvement, we help ensure that every child gets the best possible start in life. Through collaboration, peer support, and a shared commitment to excellence, we’re building stronger, more effective children’s services for the East Midlands.

East Midlands Regional Plan

Our Regional Improvement and Innovation Alliance Plan sets out the shared priorities and improvement activity for children’s services across the East Midlands. The plan has been shaped by national policy guidance, regional peer challenge conversations, needs analysis and collaborative work with senior leaders from across our ten local authorities and Northamptonshire Children’s Trust. It identifies the areas where regional collaboration can add greatest value, helping partners to share learning, strengthen practice, respond to common challenges and improve outcomes for children, young people and families.
