The East Midlands Peer Challenge is a DCS-led initiative that drives continuous improvement in children’s services across the region. It supports all ten local authorities and Northamptonshire Children’s Trust in enhancing how they identify and respond to the needs of children, young people, and their families.

Through peer review, constructive challenge, and mutual support, the initiative fosters collaboration and shared learning. It enables local authorities to reflect on practice, celebrate strengths, and pinpoint areas for development. Insights gained from these peer challenge activities directly inform the Regional Improvement and Innovation Alliance (RIIA) Plan.
